Gail Hormats partners with Phyllis A. Patrick & Associates LLC on projects that involve continuous auditing and monitoring, including program design and development using ACL and/or Excel. Ms. Hormats uses data and data analytics to foster strong information security, privacy, compliance, audit, and risk reduction strategies for organizations.  Ms. Hormats has been developing data analytics using ACL and Excel for nearly 20 years.

Ms. Hormats has held management roles in healthcare and higher education.  As Manager of Audit Services for Baystate Health, she developed and managed the organization’s CAM Program. As Manager of Audit and Compliance for Baystate Health, she expanded the program to include compliance monitoring.  The program averaged direct recoveries or revenue protection of approximately $7.5 million annually.  Prior to joining Baystate Health, Ms. Hormats was Associate Director of IT Audit for the University of Massachusetts, where she developed and introduced CAATs using ACL.  She developed continuous audit routines ranging from systems access control oversight, change control oversight, and federal sanctions testing to revenue recovery, patient status compliance, payroll reconciliations, overtime compliance, and many others.

Ms. Hormats has presented at national and local conferences, including the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors and the New England Healthcare Internal Auditors.  Her professional associations include the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, and ISACA.

Ms. Hormats is an ACL Data Analyst, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and Certified in Risk Management Assurance.  She holds a Masters in Business  with concentrations in international business and information technology from Babson College and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University.
