Wayne S. Martin, MS, CISA, CISM, CISSP

Wayne Martin has 35 years of experience in the healthcare and higher education industries, including 22 years in information technology and security. His expertise includes information risk and infrastructure management; certification, accreditation and audit; emergency preparedness and business continuity; and systems analysis and engineering.

Mr. Martin’s experience includes:

  • Information Security Officer, Blue Ridge Community College, Weyers Cave, Virginia
  • Medical Center Manager, University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville, Virginia. He previously served as Information Technology Coordinator and Network Administrator for the Health System
  • Information Security Consultant, St. Mary’s Medical Center – Huntington, West Virginia
  • Mr. Martin also served as Adjunct Faculty at Marshall Community and Technical College in Huntington, West Virginia and Ohio University Southern Campus, in Athens, Ohio

He served as co-chair of the North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance, Inc. (NCHICA) Academic Medical Center Security and Privacy Workgroup and has made numerous presentations for NCHICA and the American Association of Medical Colleges.

He has completed doctoral level work in the Information Assurance Doctoral Program, University of Fairfax, Vienna, VA. Mr. Martin holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He is a Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
